Five-S Group’s scope of work spanned nearly 80 acres of the project site. Our scope included installation of silt fencing, limestone base, concrete slab and coatings, stripping of topsoil, and mass excavation of perimeter pilot cut. Five-S performed removal of shoreline sheet piles, riprap, concrete, and debris in addition to removal of the HWY 87 roadway and subgrade material. Five-S completed the disposal of shoreline riprap, concrete, debris, and HWY 87 roadway demolished materials. Five-S provided supply, installation, and mobilization of all heavy earthmoving equipment, hard barricades, signage, and lighting. Our scope of work was considered high risk with a challenging schedule for dredging to start in order to meet the project's critical path requirements. As a result of our efforts on this project, Five-S Group was awarded a Merit Award for Excellence In Construction from the Associated Builders and Contractors Association’s - Pelican Chapter. The project was completed on-schedule, within budget, and over 11,000 man-hours were worked with zero lost time incidents or injuries.
