The Comite River Diversion Channel Reach 1 project includes excavation of an approximately one mile of the channel, placement of bedding material and riprap, demolition, clearing and grubbing, the relocation of a 48-inch sewer force main, cast-in-place structural concrete, and other associated features of work.  Five-S self-performs all heavy civil earthwork and material supply while also directing the activities of local subcontractors engaged in the performance of their specialties. 

Project Details as of August 2025:

Current Major QTYS: 1.4 Million Yards Excavated, 67k Tons R90 Rip Rap, 48k Tons Bedding Stone, 153k SY Geotextile, 6,200 SY Grouted R-650 Rip Rap

Current Manhours: 92,024-man hrs- With zero accidents, injuries, or lost time incidents (USACE). Additionally, all SWPPP on-site has been secured/no-violations.

 Redesign “Key Trench”- Five-S Group developed a redesigned layout of the key trench, aimed at delivering a more sustainable and resilient solution to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
